For those who always want to know "why and how" of everything, here is a website Mechanics of Sport that explains the physics and mechanics behind techniques involved in skiing. It has plenty of diagrams and graphics to aid the explanations e.g. see the image below:





I have read this site completely and find it very interesting and therefore recommend it to other skiers who are interested in the intricacies of skiing.
