Koh Samui, Thailand’s second largest island, lies in the Gulf of Thailand off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus. It's known for its palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves and dense mountainous rainforest. Though the main attraction there for me was scuba diving for which I went there in July 2017 but once there discovered that one could go for trekking on the island. The central part of the island is an almost uninhabitable jungle mountain, Khao Pom, peaking at 635 m. With tropical climate, some treks in the mountains on this small island can become strenuous. The trails in the jungle and the mountain will enable you to capture some of the most unique views of the island in a lush and preserved environment.
